Bishops Nympton Parish Hall is located near South Molton in the beautiful North Devon countryside, and boasts stunning views over the rolling Devonshirehills. Bishops Nympton has a slightly star studded background, being the location for filming of 1980s television program The Passion and is also home to wildlife filmmaker, Johnny Kingdom. The new Parish Hall has provided the village with a community shop, post office, private consulting room, main hall Dennis Gunn room, kitchen and a community office, all under one roof. The hall will also be a great venue for gatherings and events including the local farmers market.

The 13,500 natural slates were installed on the large eight room building by local stonework and masonry specialists A&G Setherton. “This was a challenging but exciting project to work on” says Alan from A&G Setherton. “It was important to consider the cost effectiveness of materials used, but also create a village hub that local people would be proud of. The hall was completed to a very high standard and the roof looks superb against the stonework and timber used on the exterior walls. The main reason for choosing Cembrit was that we needed to ensure that the building would be long lasting. Alpina slates are known for their durability and are able to withstand even the most severe weather conditions. Once they have been laid they will last the lifetime of the building.”
