Fluidity and sharing are the distinguishing features in today's contract projects such as hotels, workspaces, public spaces, and residential areas. They represent a priority in contemporary design that goes beyond simple arrangement. It translates into the art of creating harmonious connections among different areas of the involved spaces, facilitating dialogue and a natural flow between them. The walls become flexible boundaries, allowing users to enjoy an experience that encourages communication. Spaces open up to dialogue in an architectural symphony that promotes accessibility and inclusivity, fostering the sharing of precious moments and the building of stronger bonds. It defines itself as a means to cultivate a sense of community and well-being.
The opening of the spaces leads to a natural quest for comfort that knows no bounds, especially during the winter season, which brings the desire to be comforted by relaxing and welcoming environments. Pedrali's upholstered collection, including sofas and seating, also modular and lounge, is defined by the highest level of comfort, positioning itself as the primary goal to achieve. The elegant finishes and refined color combinations of fabrics, particularly favoring warm and embracing tones during cold times, define the 100% Made in Italy products. These collections are characterised by soft upholstery which, thanks to their modularity and customisation, accurately and elegantly furnish the most diverse settings, making them welcoming throughout the year.
Designed to be placed within any environment, the Jeff sofa by Patrick Norguet, thanks to its softness, welcomes those who sit on it in an enveloping embrace, taking shape as a contemporary modular sofa system.
Jeff is designed as a set of miniature architectures, skilfully combined to create multiple modular and reconfigurable scenarios. The distinguishing feature of this sofa is its harmony of volumes: the squared backrest pairs with a delicate seat to soften and give balance to the whole structure. Each module is made from a highly comfortable and non-deformable polyurethane foam, resting on a plywood platform covered in fabric that is raised 3 cm of the ground by small feet. The result is exceptionally soft, comfortable sofa in which organically-shaped seats subtly contrast with the more geometric and rigorous shapes of the backrest and armrests.
Buddy sofa, a two- and three-seater sofa by Busetti Garuti Redaelli, is designed for the living room at home, but equally suitable for waiting rooms, informal meetings in the workspaces, or lounge areas for contract and hospitality. While it still reflects the collection's friendly, reassuring design, this sofa adds further comfort to the seat, thanks to a combination of four different densities of polyurethane foam supported by elastic belts, offering greater softness for a domestic environment in which one feels truly pampered.
The contrast between the sober shape of the supporting structure and the use of a large and enveloping cushion characterise Lamorisse Wood by CMP Design, an armchair for indoor use. Lamorisse Wood echoes the outline of the aluminium armchair designed in 2022, from which it differs for the material used. The ash frame is characterised by oval shaped legs that blend with rounded steam-curved armrests and increase slightly in thickness near the joints for added strength, accommodating an extremely soft, generous and embracing cushion. A thin metal frame supports the seat. Elastic belts and non-deformable polyurethane foam guarantee a high level of comfort. Lamorisse Wood is made using 100% certified FSC® C114358 wood and finished with water-based coatings composed mostly of plant-derived resins.
Blume stems from the collaboration with the German designer Sebastian Herkner. Featured by a soft and rounded shape, both chair and lounge seating owe their distinctive appearance to their sophisticated flower-shaped profile in extruded aluminium. An extremely comfortable collection, in which the slender frame and the soft, generous polyurethane foam are harmoniously combined. The steel structural element, placed under the seat to strengthen the chair and to secure the legs is removable: this way all product’s components can be disassembled and disposed of correctly at the end of their life cycle.
Babila XL, designed by Odo Fioravanti, fits harmoniously within a collection poised between tradition and innovation. The inspiration behind this armchair remains the alternating rational and straight lines with curves in order to create a link between the artificial world of industrial products and the natural, sinuous world of the human body. Babila XL armchair with a polypropylene shell stands out for the large dimension of its seat and armrests. The aim is to offer greater seating comfort thanks to the removable lining that, recalling a woman’s dress, may be cleaned with ease.
Pedrali collections also include ultrasoft upholstered furniture that create a delightful cocooning effect, as in the case of Ila armchair designed by Patrick Jouin. Its curved, flexible lines trace out a comfortable and enveloping silhouette. The smooth, taut exterior in rigid polyurethane almost cocoons the user in its large volumes, allowing a moment of relaxation and escape from everyday life. This sense of protection is augmented by the inner side of the backrest and seat in flexible polyurethane foam, which adapts to the human body and envelops it just like a soft embrace. Moreover, the version with a large headrest accentuates the sense of escaping from everyday life and adds character to the armchair.
The concept of lightness combined with comfort is embodied in Héra, an armchair by Patrick Jouin available in ash or American walnut, which blends the Italian company's know-how with the finest handcrafted joinery techniques. The backrest, in three-dimensional bent plywood of 6mm thickness, has a remarkably elegant and ergonomic design, while its upholstered seat in polyurethane foam supported by elastic belts gives great cosiness. Also available in the lounge version, its clean design, delicate forms, and attention to detail make it a particularly suitable product for use in leading international hotels but also in residential spaces.
Vic by Patrick Norguet, with its elegant yet minimal outline, draws inspiration from classic mid-century armchairs. A comfortable and cozy collection featured by a curved backrest raised from the seat, which creates a lightness sensation and eases the handling. In addition to the armchair, a chair and stool also enrich the Vic family.
The idea of cosiness is enhanced by Nym Soft, simple and refined, sophisticated yet versatile, designed by CMP Design and recalling the outlines of the omonymous seating collection. Its key feature lies in the different densities of the polyurethane foam padding, which is significantly thicker in the seat area, ensuring adaptability and support – two central elements of comfort.
