The aim of the new building was to bring together diverse areas of the business – ensuring all business requirements were met whilst providing a light, modern, comfortable and productive working environment.

After a thorough procurement and selection process, which included a mock up office at Boss Design HQ, Boss Design were chosen to provide the furniture for Trinity House based on competitive pricing, wide selection of product, comprehensive warranty and, most importantly, the quality of service that could be guaranteed. Julie Skipp, Project Manager at Boss Design, worked closely with Gail Jones, Business Change Partner at E.ON and the E.ON project team to ensure the right products were chosen for all the different areas of the building.

The most important choice was the task chair that all 1100 call centre operatives would sit on. E.ON held trial days to help determine which chair the staff liked best and chair surgeries for those with existing back problems. Overwhelmingly the staff chose the Moneypenny chair for desk use and Julie spent a substantial amount of time training staff on how to set up their chair and workstation correctly.

Alongside the workstation areas there were also touchdown points, breakout areas, meeting rooms, reception and the restaurant to furnish. A range of products across the Boss Design Group portfolio were chosen including Fairfax for reception, Mars for meeting rooms and Page chairs for breakout areas. Loop chairs and bar stools were specified in the restaurant area in addition to Maxa and Raft soft seating. All products were specified in the E.ON corporate colours.

Trinity House has achieved the BREEAM excellence certificate and an Energy Performance Certificate A rating – the only building in Nottingham to achieve this. Boss Design were able to meet E.ON’s strict sustainability policy, due to stringent environmental policies of our own, helping to achieve such high accolades.
