St Peter’s Church of England Aided School is open for pupils aged 11-16yrs old and exists to serve its community by providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. The main hall is converted into a 500-seat dining room for lunch but to maximise use during the rest of the day, staff and pupils have benefited from the flexibility afforded by a partitioning wall system.
"We found that the existing moveable wall system had significantly deteriorated," comments Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director. "The tracks were unsuitable for the size of the panels and this meant they couldn’t effectively carry their weight and the system had been deteriorating with use."
Working with Carillion, Style installed the DORMA Variflex partitioning wall. With specialist tracks and semi-automatic operation, the new system feels so light it can be opened by the gentle push of one hand. It also means its longevity is protected, and walls of this quality can be operational for 25 years or longer with the correct servicing.
"This is a superb system that, considering its height and weight, is effortless to operate and complements any interior design with a range of finishes," said Julian.
