Winton Capital Management is a British investment management firm managing over $30billion of assets for many of the world’s largest pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, banks and fund platforms. The Company employs more than 450 people in offices around the globe and was the third organisation in the UK to sign the Low Carbon Workplace Charter with Low Carbon Workplace Ltd. This entails an ongoing commitment to minimise carbon emissions while occupying the Hammersmith premises.
Working with contractor, Control Group UK, Style was tasked with installing a combination of moveable walls that would allow a large open-plan area to be divided into two functional meeting spaces. Although only spanning relatively narrow areas, fully automatic partitioning walls were recommended, ensuring the meeting rooms can be created within a matter of moments, whenever required.
Supporting Winton’s commitment to low carbon emissions, the DORMA Moveo moveable wall holds an environmental product declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804, making it a highly sustainable system, as well as being stylish and practical too.
"It was important to the design that a feeling of openness was retained," explains Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director. "The glazed option ensures plenty of natural light throughout the space whilst complimenting the contemporary décor of the refurbished offices."
"Demand for automatic moveable partitioning walls is rapidly growing and fast becoming the norm," comments Sargent. "For companies such as Winton Capital, their offices are a real showcase for client visits. A fully automatic wall adds a sense of theatre and panache when it glides effortlessly into place and, for those in the meeting room, you feel the outside noise being cut off and stillness descend as the automatic seals move into place."
