For 2016, the Theme Park for Trends will open in Hall 6.0 in a central and accessible part of the fair for all trade visitors. Based upon the theme ‘Well-Being 4.0’, the 2016/17 textile trends see a collaboration of designs, patterns and colours that reflect today’s society. ‘Well-being 4.0’ is all about textile furnishing that exudes an aura of relaxation and calm. Everything will be geared towards offering a better life and greater well-being. At the same time, technology and science intertwined with textiles play a key role. The number 4.0 echoes ‘industry 4.0’ and stands for smart, digital and customised solutions.
Heimtextil plays a special role as an indicator of trends and metric of first-class, well-designed textiles with innovative functionality. Which is why Messe Frankfurt got the Heimtextil trend underway back in 1991 and has consistently expanded it ever since. Every year a trend forum with an international line-up uncovers the most important trends. It gives product developers, creative teams, furnishing businesses and designers valuable advice and reliable trend forecasts. See it all in the Theme Park for Trends 2016/17.
More events for 2016 include the Young Creations Award: Upcycling competition which takes place for the 4th time. Trade visitors will see students and graduates of interior architecture and design from European universities and young craftspeople from the interior-decoration trade create objects and room concepts that comply with the upcycling criteria. New for 2016, Young craftspeople from the interior-decoration trade are invited to take part and entrants can submit either individual objects or complete room concepts. The winners share in prize money worth a total of € 6,000.00!!
Under the motto ‘print IT digital’, Heimtextil presents an extensive range of the latest technologies from leading international printing-machine manufacturers in Hall 4.0. Among those taking part again are Hewlett Packard, Epson, Durst, Xeikon, Mimaki, MS Printing Solutions, Kornit and Reggiani. Numerous manufacturers of home and contract textiles already use digital printing technology for their new collections. In all exhibition halls at Heimtextil, visitors will find impressive presentations of textiles printed using digital technology. The ‘Heimtextil Theme Park’ will also spotlight the future of printing. The event highlight in Hall 6.0 is considered to be the most important source of inspiration for trends in the sector.
