HIMACS CURVE1

The German studio COAST OFFICE ARCHITECTURE brought HI-MACS® to life with their innovative looking stand, using architectural and furniture design to show off the flexibility of the material.

Two organic HI-MACS® ‘waves’ rose out of the white floor and transformed the stand into a futuristic space-age display, with the furniture comprising a reception desk, and two colourful benches. Two black reflective walls framed the exhibition space, and a lightbox using translucent HI-MACS® completed the stand.

The HI-MACS® waves demonstrated how this amazing solid surface material can be used to create limitless three-dimensional forms. In contrast to the rolling waves, the HI-MACS® reception counter and benches used colourful angled geometrical shapes. Squares, rectangles, parallelograms and triangles emerged with bold blocks of colour: white, grey, black and pink. As HI-MACS® can be processed without any visible joint lines, the furniture smoothly transitioned between the colours, with no seam noticeable, even to the touch.

This design flexibility, as well as the availability of a wide range of colours including translucent shades, combines with excellent material properties. HI-MACS® is durable, impact-proof, non-porous and easy to clean. This acrylic stone is especially suited to the design of public spaces and even entire façades, as well as kitchens and bathrooms.
