Fabricated by Solid Fabrications of Belfast, specialists in solid surface fabrication for commercial and residential sectors, the mirror’s frame is crafted from carefully hand finished layers of HIMACS in Aurora Bianco. The mirror frame beautifully complements the layered design of the marble mantelpiece below. HIMACS solid surface with its subtle veins and natural aesthetic was expertly colour matched while its soft, honed appearance is precisely laminated and paired with crafted antiqued glass for a rustic, natural look and feel.

The mirror hangs midway along the length of the family dining room, creating a complementary focal point and striking showpiece that will wow guests at the family’s regular dinner parties and cocktail evenings.

“This was the first time myself and Solid Fabrications had experimented with laminating HIMACS and we are tremendously proud of the outcome,” says Rory Noble-Turner. “Taking advantage of HIMACS’ sophisticated natural appearance, we successfully complemented the marble of the mantelpiece and used our technical engineering skills to achieve the perfect weight that was required in order for it to hang symmetrically and successfully.”

The mirror itself is crafted from antiqued glass from Devlin In Design, a collection of master decorative painters, artists, sculptors and specialist decorators from Ireland. The HIMACS layered frame also includes a delicate gold leafed inlay in the centre, adding a sense of drama and glamour to an otherwise monolithic piece.

HIMACS in Aurora Bianco is the perfect choice for this statement piece. Part of the Marmo Collection, it’s suitable for indoor projects including kitchens and bathrooms and features random veined detail throughout. With the look and feel of natural marble but with the flexibility of being able to be thermoformed, layered, inlaid and engraved, HIMACS is a truly versatile product that can be utilised for endless design possibilities.

The Aurora colour palette of 12 shades is inspired by the breathtaking beauty of Aurora Borealis and is a recent addition to the HIMACS Marmo Collection. The selection of sutble and strong shades all feature delicate and detailed veining with tones and hues that are influenced by the natural beauty of our surroundings with semi-translucent effects that play on light, creating instant impact in any space.

Due to its flexibility and special characteristics, HIMACS is the ideal application for residential projects, business premises, offices and headquarters. HIMACS is robust and fire resistant, incredibly hygienic and resistant to wear and tear, scratches, stains and UV rays. Moreover, its non-porous surface makes it extremely quick and easy to clean. The thermoformable properties of HIMACS also allow it to be moulded into any shape and size while the absence of visible seams ensures a smooth, seamless look that prevents dirt, bacteria and viruses building up on the surface. This makes HIMACS a Solid Surface material with unbeatable hygienic properties, guaranteed by certifications that comply with LGA and NSF international standard.
