It can ‘talk’ to technology solutions around a building linked into a KNX building system – enabling functionality and security at the touch of a button.
The BMS central panel displays the status of automatic windows which can be controlled and monitored within a central location. They can also communicate with other KNX components, such as push buttons and sensors, so that all windows in a building can be closed at the same time.
Should a weather station report rain or high wind speeds, the IQ box KNX will send a signal to the window drives to close them. The interface can also reverse this action if the concentration of CO2, humidity or ambient temperature are too high within the building.
Thanks to the precise control of the window drives, the KNX box facilitates controlled ventilation which is not only better for the indoor climate, but also for energy-saving potential.
The IQ box KNX offers additional security; in contrast to simple switch contacts, it uses the intelligence of the window drives and after performing a ‘command’ reports the status of a window to the KNX building system or building management system. Additional information, such as the precise opening width (as a percentage), any faults and updates on opening and closing cycles which can assist maintenance planning, is also provided by the module.
A small, easy to use display to visualise your complete KNX installation is now available. In addition, the Corlo Touch with its WiFi interface offers the possibility to take over control via a tablet or smartphone. The display offers nearly 250 icons to visualise the elements from the KNX system.
There is also a switch relay RDW module available which makes it possible to control 24V window drives with 230V voltage and reduces the amount of wiring needed, making installation easier.
