The resulting collection’s depth and highly textured finish combines to produce a deeply dimensional product with carved out, tactile qualities. Three patterns vary in movement and scale, formed by varying depths of an all loop, solution-dyed construction. The result is a new and elegant visual landscape for the floor. The collection is produced in a ‘plank’ format (250 by 1000mm rectangular carpet tiles) bringing yet another facet of shape and form to the floor plane.

The colour range is inspired by the stunning landscape of the Arctic; made up of ethereal neutrals and punctuated with hints of the magical spectacles to behold there. These ‘tone-on-tone’ colours allow the texture to shine through. The colours reflect the Arctic landscape with a base of neutral colours punctuated with bright hues.

Arctic Survey is composed of three designs: Isotherm, Expedition and Shackleton. The ‘Isotherm’ design, much like the lines on a weather map, link points of equal temperature. The vertical lines in Isotherm offer the subtlest pattern with the most understated colour contrast. ‘Expedition’ offers a latitudinal/longitudinal feel with a strong crosshatch shape featuring more colour and contrast.

‘Shackleton’ is the most literal interpretation of ice and represents the way water cracks and forms in layers, revealing translucent colours while other areas are opaque. As the largest scale pattern within the collection it provides the strongest potential for contrast.
Arctic Survey is produced in an ISO14001 certified facility in Wigan, UK using ethically sourced and wherever possible, locally produced, materials. Arctic Survey planks feature 90% recycled content cushion backing offering underfoot comfort, improved acoustics and superior appearance retention leading to extended product life. To further reduce its environmental impact, Arctic Survey can be supplied with Milliken’s patented TractionBack®, an innovative backing system that enables adhesive free installation and therefore improves indoor air quality, speeds installation and reduces materials usage.
