More than 1,000m² of Heckmondwike carpets were installed at the Brain Court site by the team at Select Line Carpets. A different, easily distinguishable finish was chosen for each floor, providing some ease to those with short term memory loss issues.
Heckmondwike’s hard-wearing and distinctive Montage floorcovering was used extensively throughout the Brain Court renovation, with 313m² of Jade colour carpet tiles selected for the top floor of the development, 476m² of Indigo carpets fitted on the first floor and 450m² of Claret installed on the ground floor. The project was completed with Heckmondwike’s award winning entrance range Battleship, chosen in a Pebble finish, to create an attractive and practical entrance detail. The Battleship entrance carpet is designed to clean shoes and act as an interceptor, keeping Brain Court a clean and hygienic environment for residents, staff and visitors.
Abby Chandler, Marketing Manager of Heckmondwike, said; “The primary concern for everybody connected with this project was to maximise the health and well being of Brain Court residents. Our Montage range will not ravel or fray and is anti-slip, which should provide a real benefit to users at Brain Court. The range also provides enhanced thermal properties which conserve heat, ensuring residents are comfortable and management save on fuel bills during the winter months.”
Barrie Johnstone of Select Line said: “This was a large project to take on, but ultimately a rewarding one. Heckmondwike’s carpets are robust enough to cope with a high level of traffic, but attractive enough to provide a comfortable environment for residents. We’re confident that everyone connected with Brain Court will be happy with the solution that we’ve delivered.”
Brain Court is a sheltered housing facility in Swindon, operated by the Southern Housing Group. It offers 57 self contained flats, each equipped with emergency Careline cords, monitored by wardens 24 hours a day.
