Oxford Brookes University’s Clerici redevelopment has seen the former main entrance building transformed into a hub for teaching, learning and study, with thirty individual rooms, a collaborative lecture theatre, social learning spaces, and other exciting facilities.

Working with architect, Ostic + Williams, and contractor, McLaughlin & Harvey, Style was specified to divide the main hall, creating a multi-use space for teaching, graduations and other key university events.  The Skyfold was chosen as the perfect solution for a room of this type, as it takes up zero floor space when not in use and being fully automatic, can quickly be lowered and raised as the requirement for space changes throughout the day.  The acoustic performance of the Skyfold wall is also second to none, ensuring concurrent events can take place either side of the divide, completely undisturbed.

“Sub-dividing a room of this size was an enormous task requiring the very best in technical ability, project management and health and safety,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director.  “The final solution is a real showpiece with a chic bone white finish.”

Style is the exclusive UK partner to Skyfold which has seen huge popularity in universities, schools and colleges. It is also used extensively in company board rooms, hotels and conference centres.
