The brief for the project was to completely refurbish the Telenor Expo Centre – the main conference and event facility for executive guests and visitors. The interior was over 10 years old and appeared dated in comparison to new buildings on the site. It was extremely important that the interiors and technology installed in the centre reflected Telenor’s position as leaders and innovators in the telecommunications sector.

Interior Designer Adam Laska, from Design Partner based in Norway, worked with Telenor to help create a professional and innovative interior. For the meeting rooms Adam specified the classic Kruze chair, designed by David Fox, upholstered in black leather and oak show-wood outer-shell. Laska specified the 5 star swivel base on the Kruze chairs to provide users with maximum flexibility.

The private data rooms in the centre were designed to provide a quiet space for people to dissect complex information. A 4 seater Layla sofa and 2 Layla armchairs upholstered in cream leather were installed along with a Layla coffee table to create the homely and relaxing atmosphere as specified in the brief. The sleek black glass top of the Layla coffee table was an elegant addition to the room, suiting in with the warm cream of the Layla upholstery range.

Loop chairs were installed in the cafeteria area in an opaque white finish creating a clean and light environment.

The main feature, and greatest challenge of the interiors brief, was the 3D cinema room designed for VIP guests. High back Kruze Lounge chairs upholstered in Elmo Rustical leather with a Black American Walnut outer-shell were specified without bases and fixed to the tiered floor using a special plate. The sculpted profile of the Kruze Lounge chairs added class and sophistication to the room, enhancing its VIP status.
