New to the elegant collection of moulded plywood chairs, available with and without armrests, is the comfortable S 220 H barstool. The aesthetics of the chairs in the collection have been carried through to the new barstool. This is a contemporary take on moulded plywood, transferring the familiar lines of the iconic 214 bentwood chair to a material-efficient, versatile stool with an ergonomic seat shell and lightweight tubular steel frame. The welcoming barstool is ideal for high dining setups as well as for meetings held around high tables and counters.

Also on show at Catapult, creations greatly valued for their contribution to elegance, comfort and functionality in the workplace, including versions of Bauhaus era classics reconsidered for today’s needs: the Atelier ‘swivel’ version of the Thonet S 64 chair and a new Lounge version of the Thonet S 32 chair, both originally designed by Marcel Breuer.

The popular 118/119 range by Sebastian Herkner takes its place at Catapult, as does the relaunched 520 armchair collection by Marco Dessi. Continuing the tradition of taking of inspiration from Thonet’s design DNA, both designers created their contemporary collections by considering key aspects of the pioneering Thonet bentwood chairs that revolutionised the furniture industry 200 years ago.

Other pieces on display include an eclectic collection of Thonet dining chairs around the Werner Aisslinger designed 1140 table, created as a robust, generous and stylish solution to enjoying company while also enjoying a meal, or a meeting, or both. Lounge and armchairs with side and coffee tables perfect for relaxed communal areas and lobbies, plus bar stools ideal for sitting at hospitality counters or high tables will complete the welcoming and appealing scenarios at Catapult.
