Originally the plan was to move within Clerkenwell, however when BDG began to work on this building for Ogilvy & Mather Group Worldwide (who are scheduled to move to Sea Containers later this year), it became apparent there was a wonderful space for a new studio.

Moving away from Clerkenwell was a big step when you’ve been there as long as BDG, it is a creative quarter that they have loved and grown with. However the opportunity to occupy Sea Containers in an amazing space that allowed them to work in a manner they’ve always wanted to was just too good to refuse.

As well as being a unique space, it enabled BDG, to test a lot of the theories that they wanted to and demonstrate various working methodology to thier clients.

The space comprises one long bench, with varying degrees of flexibility, it is open and bright. Clients can come in and see how a creative agency works, rather than it all being behind closed doors or requiring a meeting room to be booked.

The furniture specified was of course key and USM pays an integral part in the space, dominating with a stunning wall of vibrant yellow storage creating a dramatic impact.

Colin Macgadie, Creative Director of BDG architecture & design explains:
"Relocating to Sea Containers was a wonderful opportunity to create a studio that truly reflected our strong culture of creativity and design integrity. The only furniture, that fitted this brief and relocated with the studio, was our existing USM storage. We reconfigured what we had and supplemented with more USM in a vibrant yellow, injecting vitality to an otherwise minimal and raw space".
