The property was formerly named The Diplomatic Hotel which has received an extensive facelift to be transformed into the new hotel. The new facility houses a total of 211 large guest rooms. All the rooms have been equipped with iPod docking stations, and flat screen TVs. The property also comprises a roof top bar and lounge named La Terrassa which sports waterfalls and offers views of the Barcelona skyline.
The CRU Steak House and cosmopolitan CUIT Bar and Lounge are the dining outlets of the new hotel. In addition, Renaissance Barcelona Hotel consists of a fitness centre, business center and seven facilities to serve meetings and events which have been equipped with advanced technical and AV equipment.
