The stadium currently features a new infield that includes two dual directional horizontal jumps runways, four dual directional pole vault runways, two shot put arenas with a total of six throws circles and one multi-purpose high jump area capable of hosting three simultaneous high jump competitions.

R. Ryan Faulk of Holly & Smith Architects and Dwayne Honore of D. Honore Construction, Inc designed and constructed the new track surface. The track was also replaced as part of the renovation with a new Mondo FTX surface with an increase in the radius of the 400-meter oval and widening of the nine, 48-inch lanes. In addition, a newly-sodded throws field is also featured at the South end of the Bernie Moore Track Stadium with two intersecting javelin runways and two hammer and discus cages.

Ground=breaking on the Bernie Moore Track Stadium took place in July 2010. It was completed in March 2011 prior to LSU’s outdoor home opener at the LSU Tiger Relays.
