Built upon the site of the former Lick House, the 177-room Galleria Park Hotel is recognised as San Francisco’s finest hotel west of the Mississippi when it opened in 1862. The Galleria Park Hotel is also the most historic property within the Joie de Vivre collection.

Restoring its rich heritage and enhancing its stylish appeal to today’s traveler, the hotel is undergoing an 18-month restoration process, which includes various aspects.

The hotel’s guest rooms and suites are recreated with chic design elements. The updates include stunning accent walls, designer furnishings, Frette linens, large HD televisions, and the installation of marble bathrooms with mosaic glass walls and rain shower treatments. The guest rooms feature high ceilings, expansive windows, and jewel-toned colour palette to provide an enhanced experience to the guests.

It has introduced Franck Leclerc’s Gaspar Brasserie, an inviting bi-level restaurant and bar showcasing an eclectic mix of vintage design pieces.

The restoration also includes the creation of the Legacy Room, which will replicate the Hotel Sutter’s original speakeasy and feature historical memorabilia and new landscaping and décor on the outdoor Park Terrace.

Taking care of the needs of the modern traveler, the restoration also includes internet hardware upgradation, which will provide a 500% increase in bandwidth; and installation of state-of-the-art equipment in the fitness studio boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and a pets-stay-free policy.

Besides that the renovation has expanded the hotel’s collection of fine art prints and photography, ranging from the 1930s to the present, to all public and private spaces within the property.

The Galleria Park Hotel is owned by Interwest Capital and managed by Joie de Vivre Hotels. Founded in 1987, Joie de Vivre manages 30 boutique hotels in California and Honolulu, Chicago and Scottsdale, Arizona.

The renovation work is scheduled to complete in August 2013.
