Refurbished lounges are opened at O.R. Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport and the new King Shaka International Airport.
Months of extensive construction and redesign precede the opening of new lounges. Though displaying a dramatic change from the previous look and feel, the redesign of the lounges has not effected the South African heritage feel of the space.
A new and improved International Departures Lounge has been opened at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. SAA’s flagship departure lounge, spanning 2500 square meter, is located on the mezzanine floor of the international departures terminal. The lounge is divided into two areas: one for First Class customers, Voyager Lifetime Platinum and Platinum members and the other for Business Class customers, Voyager Gold and Silver and Star Alliance Gold members.
Ensuring customer comfort has been central to the design. The lounge is designed to offer a view of the airport runway. The space is equipped with high-speed Internet connection. A Left Luggage facility, which is designed as a dedicated baggage deposit area, is also featured within the space. Some other features of the lounge include rest rooms, rainfall showers, an audio-visual entertainment room, built-in private entertainment screens, a self-service food area and bar, a children’s area and private boardrooms.
In order to support the travelers traveling on domestic routes, SAA has unveiled a new Platinum and Business Class lounge at Cape Town International Airport.
SAA is South Africa’s flagship carrier and largest domestic and international airline company, with hubs in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
