The first level of the new facility will comprise open pedestrian plazas, commercial community area and a team store in addition to a 49ers Hall of Fame and vibrant signage. The corners of the stadium will be anchored by large entry plazas. The stadium’s structure will be made of steel painted in shades of white. The open open design of the stadium is aimed at allowing glimpses of the playing field, the nearby Silicon Valley and the mountains.
The facility is equipped with various sustainable features such as photovoltaic panels, a living roof, public transit access, bicycle parking and a walking path access from the San Tomas Creek Trail. The building’s plumbing fixtures will help save water and are teamed with efficient building control systems to save energy. In addition, the facility has used recycled materials during its construction.
