The brief for the 120 sq m space was to create an environment that fitted with the existing architectural language of the store while making it feel like a distinct destination. Unusual and rich textures, materials, shapes and lighting were used to create intrigue while the product remains the focal point.

Karen Maxwell, Four-by-Two design director said: ‘Luxury shoppers look for more than just taking a great product home. In designing a shopping experience such as this, you need to understand the prompts. Everything must wrap the feeling of luxury.’

The boutique’s perimeter has wide sightlines to encourage footfall and angled walls play with perspective. New floor finishes match the store’s limestone, while marble shelves fixed to walls are individually shaped and designed to ‘float’ in the space. Banquette seating is covered in gold velvet and highlighted with overhead and oversized gold lighting drums.
