Post completion, the $435 million campus will include OrthoColorado Hospital, eight-storey St. Anthony Hospital, two walkway-connected medical office buildings and an 848-space parking garage. The new facility will feature 222 Private Inpatient rooms, an emergency department, ICU, dedicated trauma surgery suite (T-10 room), decontamination room, helipad, ambulance bay and other facilities.

The buildings have been designed to include intelligent building automation systems to reduce energy usage and maintenance costs. The new St. Anthony Medical Campus is said to be the first in the state to implement the TransVac system that automates the entire waste handling process and reduces infection risks and manual labor.

The design and construction of the new facility also incorporated various eco-friendly features such as TechnoFloor slip-resistant surfaces installed in patient rooms that can be easily cleaned for infection control; Paints, carpets and finishes with low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs); and dual occupancy sensors that turn lights off automatically.

Roof-mounted helicopter landing pad with high-speed patient access to the emergency and surgery departments is also featured in the new facility. The communications center and administrative offices of Flight For Life Colorado, currently located at St. Anthony Central Hospital, will relocate to the new hospital once it’s open. A freestanding wellness center is also planned for the campus.
