The office will be located in the 416-acre Government and Technology Enterprise (The GATE) businesspark. The community is situated within the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford Army base, Maryland, US.
The new building will span 75,000 square feet while encompassing three floors. It will incorporate a host of green features conforming to LEED Silver standards such as a high-performance HVAC system and windows. The lavatory fixtures fitted in the facility will be designed to reduce water consumption. The office will also sport a white thermoplastic polyolefin roofing system.
Extensive use of low VOC paints, carpets as well as adhesives will add to the building’s sustainability. Its landscaping will be capable of withstanding droughts. The facility will also comprise open areas and wetland/forest preserves.
In addition, the new office will have the capacity to link with APG’s secure IT network while abiding by federal antiterrorism/force protection norms.
