The 245-room hotel includes a 542 square meter lobby, two restaurants and bars, a 449 square meter banquet hall, eight additional meeting and function rooms, a ladies smoking room, a barber’s shop and a spa, which includes a swimming pool and six treatment rooms.
The restoration project included upgrading the architecture, art, design and decor that was executed by UK-based property firm Manhattan Loft Corporation, along with building contractors Galliford Try, RHWL Architects, conservation architect Richard Griffths and interior designers GA Design International.
The work on the hotel began in 2005. The completion of the hotel renovation project marks the end of the final phase of the St Pancras regeneration project, which included the restoration of St Pancras Station, now the home of Eurostar.
The historic hotel had originally opened in 1873 as the Midland Grand Hotel. The property is known for its High Victorian Gothic architecture and stately interiors.
