The facility, located north of the Bay Road campus, will be developed by Bette & Cring in Latham. It will cover an area of 148,000 square feet. It will be the first on-campus housing at the college.
The dorm will be owned by Adirondack Housing Authority LLC, which is a nonprofit financially supported by the Faculty-Student Association of SUNY Adirondack and the SUNY Adirondack Foundation. It will have a capacity of 400 beds sporting suite-style living quarters. Among its various features include a fitness centre, offices, a mixed-use room, as well as five classrooms.
Work is due to be over by the beginning of the 2013 fall semester.
