The renovation was designed by Strata Design of Traverse City and executed by Leabo Construction of Suttons Bay. Work involved expansion of the building’s office area by almost three feet and installation of new cabinetry in the office and remodelling of the facility’s circulation desk. The building’s public computer room, earlier positioned on the facility’s brightest portion, has been interchanged with a children’s reading room. The renovated children’s reading room provides a visual treat through picture windows overlooking the Suttons Bay.

Other features of the renovation project include installation of new carpeting and new window blinds. In addition, the walls of the upgraded facility sport new hues.

The project has received funds of about $20,000 each from the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and Rotary Charities. The rest of the project money, amounting to about $60,000, was provided by a private fundraising campaign and contributions from the Friends of the Suttons Bay-Bingham District Library non-profit organization.
