Designed by HKS Architects, Texas Health Flower Mound will open with approximately 100 inpatient beds, an emergency department and a wide range of medical services including services for women and children. The campus layout provides patient views of a beautiful tree-covered environment and includes healing gardens of respite and walking trails for patients and families.
Design and construction standards for the hospital incorporated green building technology. Around 20% of the construction materials contained recycled content or were locally produced. Bicycle racks and preferred parking for hybrid and carpool vehicles are included to encourage alternative transportation options.
Balfour Beatty was the primary construction contractor for the hospital.
