The $20-million Benjamin F. Payton Hall will also house residential suites named as ‘living/learning’ center. The state-of-the-art living and learning center will feature 500 suite-style units, classrooms, labs, and study and gathering areas. These components are integrated to combine the residential and academic components of the university.
The Benjamin F. Payton Hall will replace the former Collis P. Huntington building that was destroyed by fire in August 1991.
Alabama-based Williams Blackstock Architects has been selected as the architect of record. Groundbreaking ceremony will be held on June 13, 2010, and construction is slated to be completed by early 2011.
