The new residence hall, spanning over an area of 122,200 square feet, will imbibe the classic style of architecture. It will accommodate the Entrepreneurship, Public Scholarship, Innovation, & Community Engagement Residential College of the University. The facility will sport office area and skyboxes while possessing a bed capacity of 362.
The fifth storey of the building will be equipped with skybox seats overlooking the Estes Stadium. The seats will be constructed with the help of private funds collected by the athletic department. Among the various other features of the hall are three seminar rooms and a spacious lobby area consisting of a kitchen, study rooms, and laundry facilities. Further, the facility will abide by several green norms such as reusing 50,000 bricks from the closed Minton Hall during the construction process.
The hall has been financed through UCA bond sales. A portion of this money will also be utilised for refurbishing other residential halls of the campus such as State, Conway, Hughes and Carmichael halls. The Bear Hall is slated to open by the end of 2012.
