The circa-1966 dormitory is in dire need of improvements including window replacements and air-conditioning upgrades. The window replacements will improve insulation that is installed on the exterior walls of the building. The new windows will also help in reducing the size of the mechanical equipment needed to add air conditioning units.
Carlo Colella, director of Facilities Management’s Capital Projects Division stated that it is not considered a full-blown renovation. The work will be carried out only during times when the building is unoccupied. Capital Projects in the campus is aimed at meeting all the needs of the residents via the multimillion-dollar renovation.
Named after the county seat of Cecil County in Northeastern Maryland, the dormitory hall was opened in 1966.
