The concept store covers an area of about 1,900 square feet and is composed of polished concrete, natural steel, leather in addition to felted stones and boulders. The design of the building has been inspired bya Merrell retail store presently located within Wolverine’s corporate headquarters in Rockford. The building also incorporates green features which includes the use of recycled wood in the construction of the structure.

The facility includes a wide array of Merrell shoes and apparel for men, women and children, in addition to some Chaco products which is another Wolverine outdoor brand for river sandals.

The store design has already received the first place in the 2010 Store of the Year competition by Chain Store Age and has also secured an Award of Merit from the Retail Design Institute.

The Merrell concept stores promote creating an awareness of the outdoor footwear and apparel products as well as new top-selling barefoot shoe.
