The Montcalm Hotel, Mayfair, London
This top London hotel in an historic eighteenth century building has been renovated by Holland Harvey in conjunction with Studio Mica, and Studio Est, who reimagined the public spaces, including the restaurant, bar and Grand Ballroom.
The design used rich, earthy tones for which stone is ideally suited. stoneCIRCLE worked with Studio Est to fabricate and install stone and porcelain throughout the public areas.
In the foyer and lounge, a refined palette takes centre stage. The flooring blends the creamy warmth of Morazzi Beige and Volakas marble with striking Dark Emperador cabochons and borders, adding contrast and definition.
The fireplace, clad in Cotton Rouge marble, introduces a soft blush tone layered with gentle cloud-like veining, subtle yet unmistakably luxurious.
The company also manufactured various other items, including a tripod console table.
The dining area features Verde Alpi porcelain tiles in a deep forest green with marbled veining reminiscent of the Alpine landscape. Their intense colour grounds the room with calm sophistication.
In the male washrooms the same Verdi Alpi was used for both marble vanity units and porcelain tiles to bold effect.
In contrast with the male, the female toilets feature warmer tones with Aegean Pink marble flooring and vanity units in Rosa Pink marble, chosen for their elegance and natural variation.
